Geneva 2.5 hours, Lyon 2.5 hours, Grenoble 2.5 hours, Chambery 1.5 hours and Turin (via the Frejus Tunnel) 3 hours.
These times can vary, depending on weather conditions and traffic volumes! We can arrange private taxi and coach transfers if required.

Road
La Rosière is about 1000 kms from Calais, approximately 10 hours driving. Over 900 km of this journey is on motorways which are consistently much quieter than roads in the UK. It can be a cost effective way to get to La Rosière, especially with a large group. Fuel is slightly cheaper in France than it is in the UK but remember to allow approximately 80.00 euro for road tolls.
If you are using SATNAV, programme your destination as Bourg Saint Maurice, and from there follow the road signs or use a map!
There are a number of places named La Rosiere, and SATNAV may direct you to the wrong location.
Parking is available at the front of the hotel.

Please note that the “Col du Petit San Bernard” is CLOSED in winter, and that you cannot travel to La Rosière via the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

Be Safe, Be Legal

Failure to comply with a countrys legal driving requirements can result in Insurance Policies being invalid, and demands for “On the Spot” fines.
Always carry the original, and two or three photocopies of your driving licence and insurance certificate.
Ensure you comply with European Montoring Requirements by carrying the following essential items of accident, emergency and breakdown equipment.

Headlamp Beam Adaptors
Failure to adapt your headlamps at any time, day or night, will render your vehicle unfit for use on the road and could invalidate your motor insurance.
Country Plate
A Country plate (i.e. GB, B, NL etc) must be displayed on the rear of your vehicle, caravan or trailer.
Warning Triangles
Drivers must be able to give advance warning of a hazard on the road by using a warning triangle. Hazard warning lights alone are NOT  sufficient.
Spare Bulbs
Drivers must be in a position to replace any blown exterior light.
First Aid Kit & Fire Extinguisher
The European “Good Samaritan” Law requires every driver to stop and provide assistance in the event of an accident.
Reflective Vests
European law requires all vehicles to carry reflective vests, for drivers AND their passengers, for use in the event of breakdowns or emergencies.
Snow Chains
Drivers must carry snow chains in their vehicle  from the beginning of November to the end of April. The police have the authority to deny access to mountain roads if drivers are not carrying chains.

Drivers should check with the relevant motoring organisations to ensure all legal obligations are met.
